“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent; it is the one most adaptable to change” – Charles Darwin.
Both Jessica’s career and Standard Chartered’s payroll transformation story is one of change, growth and adaptation and she is excited to share the journey with the ReThink Now audience.
Jessica brings a unique mix of psychology, tax and reward experience to her role as global head of payroll at Standard Charted Bank. She began her career with a degree in psychology, became a Charted Tax Advisor at KPMG, moved across the globe during her time with EY (London, India and Singapore) and since joining Standard Charted Bank has taken on several different roles from international mobility to performance and reward advisory to her current position in payroll.
Standard Chartered’s payroll function has been on an equally unique progression over the past few years, bringing in multi-country payroll partners across the globe, enhancing digitalization and simplifying data. The current environment has helped highlight how critical these changes have been in continuing seamless delivery of payroll across 60+ locations in any situation. However, Standard Chartered’s payroll transformation is far from over and they now look to see how they can elevate payroll to the next level, looking at full automation, use of AI, HR system changes, data analytics and more.
